Every old factory has a great history, and the former Peaks Mason Mints candy factory has an especially sweet one. Designed in 1885 by the manufacturer of the popular Mason Mints and Mason Dots, this old industrial factory was chock full of architectural nuances to build upon. Housed in the landmark Middagh building — with its large factory windows, awe-inspiring ceiling heights and exposed natural beams — it made for an easy conversion into luxury condos. Building off of the historic details, we designed a 3BR model condo mixing old with new to create the ultimate open concept living, dining and kitchen space. The design was tied together through a mixed use of natural textures and materials that blended the two periods harmoniously and we warmed up the expansive space with oversize furniture and detailed accessories. Phase two, in the newly constructed Poplar building, included the design of a modern 2BR model and leasing center.
